Orange Tip Tactical is your source for answers to any airsoft question you have. We’re a dedicated duo of airsofters that have been in the game for longer than we’d care to admit. If you’ve been playing for any length of time, you’ve probably noticed that there aren’t too many centralized sources for airsoft information out there–and if there are, they’re likely just regurgitating the opinions of retailers.
Our goal is to provide you accurate and honest reviews on guns, gear, and all of the other bits and bobs that make this game what it is–no BS.
We’re players first, and firmly believe that without putting in the time to make objective information widely available to experienced and beginning players alike, this hobby is worse off for it. While we take the game seriously, we also think it’s important to remember that at the end of the day, it’s dress-up LARP with BB guns and none of us are cool. If you like what we’re doing, let us know! We love feedback either way.
What We Do
We’re here to provide some unbiased opinions and reviews on a huge variety of airsoft guns, gear, and more. We’re also here to share information about getting started with airsoft, how to find the best gear, and all the different takes on the sport that we can find. It’s no surprise that there’s a ton of information out there on the internet, so we’ve made it our purpose to share our personal experience and help you out, too.
Think of us as your friendly local airsoft heroes, swooping in to rescue you from some truly bad-idea purchases and setting the record straight when it comes to your burning questions.
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No, it’s Orange Tip Tactical!
How We Do It
We want to make sure that we never, ever recommend something to you that we wouldn’t use ourselves, so we do lots of research and testing before giving our opinion. We also use our personal money to purchase what we review, so when we say we’d spend money on it, you know we mean it. We’ll protect your allowance, guaranteed.
Sometimes we are given free stuff to review–and we’ll let you know when that happens, because honesty is the best policy. We don’t charge people for reviews, and we don’t alter them–unless, of course, we find out that we were wrong about something!
Like we said, we’re in it for you, so we want to make sure that we’re 100% honest in our reviews. Pretty much, if we wouldn’t recommend it to our friends, we won’t recommend it to you, either.
If you’re wondering how we pay for everything we review, we’ve got a little secret–we use affiliate links. Whenever you click a link on our site to shop for a recommended product, we get a little cut of your purchase, at no cost to you. It’s your support that keeps us stocked up on Monster and MREs so we can keep writing reviews and shooting at each other with plastic pellets.
The Orange Tip Team
Rory Saváge – Editor
Hailing from the quiet suburbs and endless cornfields of the midwest, Rory was first introduced to the world of airsoft via backyard springer games with friends over 15 years ago.
Since then, an ever-deepening love for all things BB LARP has been a constant background in Rory’s life, eventually transforming into a desire to continually push the envelope of what MilSim-based airsoft can be. Rory remains a regular MilSim player to this day, often attending large-scale national events designed to push the player to their limits through physical exertion and immersive, narrative-driven environments, and thoroughly enjoys helping new folks go deeper down the larperator rabbit hole.
Milo Harrison – Editor
Milo’s a desert rat by birth and grew up in the shadow of Nellis AFB. He first discovered paintball in high school, but quickly switched to the world of airsoft when he found out how much less it stung. He still loves a pickup game in the backyard, but these days, you’ll usually find him at airsoft LARP events.
He’s our resident history geek, with a soft spot for highly accurate airsoft recreations of vintage guns and loves a chance to combine his love of airsoft and his love of historical accuracy for a weekend reenactment event. Milo also loves showing new people the ropes and encouraging new players.
